Fe’iloakitau Kaho Tevi is the General Secretary of the Pacific Conference of Churches (PCC), based in Fiji, which links the major Christian denominations of the Pacific Islands region. The PCC has taken a leading role in addressing issues of social, cultural and environmental concern. He has been involved in civil society initiatives to address the potential economic and social impacts of regional trade agreements. Fei has long been involved in regional civil society initiatives to address the potential economic and social impacts of regional trade agreements, including the forthcoming PACER agreement with Australia and New Zealand. He will discuss Australia’s engagement with the region on issues of trade and economic justice and the potential role for civil society. Fei will be joined in this free public lecture by Alison Tate, the International Officer with the Australian Council of Trade Unions. Maude Barlow is the National Chairperson of The Council of Canadians, Canada’s largest public advocacy organization, and the co-founder of the Blue Planet Project, working internationally for the right to water. She serves on the boards of the International Forum on Globalization and Food and Water Watch, as well as being a Councillor with the Hamburg-based World Future Council.
